THE BOARD

FadaDance Troupe has a diverse and creative board of directors. Each member brings a passion for the arts and decades of combined experience within creative arts, business management, administration and leadership alongside FadaDance Troupe support.

Shaunna Dunn

Shaunna (she/her) is an arts professional and creative animateur from Regina, Treaty Four Territory. She has spent nearly two decades contributing to Saskatchewan’s cultural landscape, working closely with local and national artists to increase opportunities for arts education and training, build multi-disciplinary artistic programming, and develop community-centred initiatives in support of access and inclusion. She brings ten years of experience in senior management with non-profit arts organizations and a passion for arts education and youth mentorship to the FadaDance Board.

Shaunna holds a BFA from the University of Regina and a MFA in Studio Arts from Concordia University. Consilience and the potential of cross-disciplinary approach to understanding has always remained a foundation of her creative process and her work is steeped in collaboration and participant driven, community-centered art-making. Her artistic practice bridges disciplines and is rooted in materiality, relational aesthetics, performative spaces, and creative exchanges that foster connection. She is a strong advocate for the integration of the arts into daily experience, believing in the role artists can play in furthering social progress and community wellness.

Shaunna has served on the board of the Art Gallery of Regina and Artesian Performing Arts, and has received Regina’s Arts and Business Award for Excellence in Arts Related Service.  Prior to the pandemic, she received funding from the Canada Council for the Arts to study in Reggio Emilia, Italy – and anticipates this pursuit in 2023.

Marian Donnelly

Marian has been working in the creative sector since 1975.  After living and working in Winnipeg, Toronto and Vancouver as a concert producer, artist manager and record company executive, she returned to her hometown, Regina, in 1996 to take the helm as Executive Director at SaskMusic, a non-profit provincial recording industry association.  Since then, she has also served as the General Manager at Globe Theatre, the CEO and founder of the Creative City Centre, and as the provincial coordinator for Culture Days. As an arts consultant, she has developed strategic plans for non-profit organizations across Canada, including the Atlantic Presenters Association, the Canadian Gospel Music Association, the Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative and Sâkêwêwak First Nations Artist Collective, among others.

Marian is currently the Regional Director for Western Canada for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, and serves on the Board of Directors of FadaDance Troupe Inc.; as Treasurer of SaskMusic; and as the Chair of the Creative City Centre's Board of Directors.  Marian teaches workshops and courses in non-profit management, and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Regina. She has also been the official FadaDance stage manager for as long as they have been presenting year end shows, and considers it one of her favorite roles.  Watching dancers mature from nervous 8 year olds to seasoned professional adult dancers over the years has been an absolute gift.

Brad Wolbaum

Using the knowledge gained in attaining a degree in Business Administration from the University of Regina, Brad has worked for over twenty years, helping administer and manage local businesses and non-profit organizations. He has applied himself to supporting local business success, with a determination that originates from an internal belief in the importance of nurturing community.

Having an artistic streak and a deep love of the arts, Brad is appreciative of his opportunities to support local Arts organizations and events.  He has been a Director of FadaDance Troupe since 2009 and is pleased to be able to provide oversight to the organization’s growth, as they work to implement their vision and create beautiful and impressive dance art. He sees importance in being able to use his business skills in support of the implementation of artistic vision – something that is not always compatible with the rigors and structure of the business environment.

Aside from work, Brad is grateful for a fulfilling personal life.  He fire dances, DJ’s at the occasional event, plays a variety of sports and loves making music and dancing.  His favourite activity is simply spending time with his wife and daughter.

There, he creates digital content to promote the festival as well as supports the festival events with projections and design.

He holds the position of Coordinator of Collections & Digital Engagement at Dunlop Art Gallery found in the Regina Public Library. There, he works with artists, curators, and gallery staff to bring digital aspects of art to the public. On top of that, he manages the social media for both Dunlop Art Gallery and RPL Film Theatre's various social media accounts as well as Regina Public Library's growing art collection database which features many Saskatchewan artists.
